    INFO: JavaScript performance differences

Came across this just now (published on the 14th), thought it was interesting to see how the different browsers (and Flash 6) shaped up:

Exactly! So take note - not all browser JavaScript engines are born equal. Some are more equal than others....! lol

It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

Thanks for the info M@rco, Opera doesn't seem too keen on the DOM by the looks of things

IE seems pretty dominant, in terms of performance. MS should bring this data up at their anti-trust trials!!

IE's scripting engines are also Windows' scripting engines, so I doubt that would help their case any (the 'bundling' and all). Their scripts are the fastest in many cases though, I'll give them that! I want to see Mac benchmarks there too, to see if IE is top dog, or if some other browser like Safari or Mozilla wins out.

And Andrew, the reason Opera lags in DOM performance is that they only recently started complying with it more (I think they started partial DOM support with version 5). Give them time and a version or two and they will improve.
