I leave my Internet access on sometimes when I know I will be coming back to it. Does anyone know of a good program that will pay me to be online? It needs to work in the UK.

Nicky - how can you afford to stay online?

I had free internet access through Lineone, until today...
they stopped it today and now my phone bill will shoot through the roof again. Really should get ASDL I suppose.

I don't think any will work if you are not at least at your computer.

I promote ClickDough and I find that that's a good one if you are online a lot, as it gives unlimited hours.

As for being online all the time, I've recently got a seperate line and am with BT SurfTime and PlusNet. Works okay.

You know this thread is just asking for affiliate links... ;-)

I was also on LineOne, so yesterday I joined NTL (www.ntlworld.com). It's essentially the same deal for double the cost (10/month instead of 5)

I would also like a good pay to surf program...i was with AllAdvantage but then I found out what a con it is...

    Hi
NO we guys are not online all the time. But I have just got BT Surftime which means I can be online offpeak (Mon-Thurs 6pm till 8am and Fri 6pm till Mon 8am). It is still only abiyt 4k per second which is quite poor. I do have a leased line at work though!

COuld I use ONE Clikdough account both at home and at work whilst I am using the Net?

Peter - I would absolutely LOVE ASDL but have you seen the prices?

I have BT Surf time too, but I really want daytime free access. Otherwise I end up working in the evening instead of during the day. NTL would be good but it means getting another cable line in (we rent our house and it already has a Cable & Wireless box, but they don't have any decent deals).

Back to evening working I suppose... bum!

here's a site with all the present ASDL providers for the UK...

Looks like the cheapest is 40 a month. It'd be worth it for me though, probably!

Are the phone calls you make on it free too does anyone know - if not I'll have to look into internet phone calls.

It's a bone of contetion over here tha Tony Blair claims to be "modernising" Britain, and being "radical" so that we are at the front of "internet technology" etc. and yet OfTel, the telephone line watchdog is too impotent to do anything about the fact that BT are taking ages to release the lines to companies that want to use them for unlimited surfing.

Basicallt BT have now released a package called SurfTime which means that you can be online for as much as you want for a set fee each month (I think about 6 for off-peak and 20 for always, which is what I'm on). Then you also have to join an affiliated ISP - I'm on PlusNet, for an extra 6 a month.

ADSL is actually quite reasonable, for 40 a month. There's an article on all this in this week's Economist - of course the liberal and forward looking Economist is slagging off BT (and rightly so), as even though it is releasing ADSL exchanges to other companies, they are only ones near poor / rural areas, whereas BT have "cherry-picked" all the good locations for themselves. It is a terrible monopoly, isn't fair on consumers, and something should be done about it.

Nicky - yes, you can use ClickDough at home and at work. I chose it because I'm on a network at uni and can't download anything onto it, obviously <tempted> Do you want a referral id? </tempted> Only kidding Wayne!

Personally, I like Spedia - no limit on payable hours, and pays you between 0.5-0.6$ per hour. To make it work whilst away from the computer, I think you have to us a program like fakesurf. You can find it at Progenic Security. Keep in mind that you may get busted, though.

To increase revenues from it, you might want to have a guide on how to use it on your site.. Check an example of it on my site: Smart3 > Get paid to surf

    Cheers!

I think fakesurf is detected by many get paid to surf programs. Unless they keep giving out new version.

Fakesurf cannot be detected in the standard way - since it hides itself from the windows engine. I on't have clue on how they do it, but it is very smart. Once it is started and hidden, you have to copy a word to the clipboard to stop it. Very cool - I would have used it if I wasn't so afraid to be busted.

I'd say Spedia, if you use Windows. I never liked clickdough - spedia feels more integrated into the system, and less obtrusive.. but it was quite a while since I've checked clickdough - I will do so again. Cheers!
