    I'm sure there are I don't mind using that german site or whatever for help, but I'm sure pretty soon we'll need the collective genius of SPF to go farther. We're smarter than some germans

    OK, this confirms it. I'm an idiot. I can't figure out 1-4 at all. I've done all the permutations of dark and horse that I can figure out and it's just not clicking what pun he's using this time. I know it's gonna make me slap my head when I get it figured out, and that's why it's driving me NUTS!!!

    I'd do fine on the number ones and such, but this wordplay stuff is driving me batty (and I used to be good at this kinda stuff)

    Okay, first, figure out another name for horse. Then, figure out another name for dark. Then put them together and it's a common word.

    *grumble*mumble*curses*

    I KNEW it was going to annoy the snot outta me when I figured it out. I had the word for dark right away. The one for horse was just too obvious.

    Well Jeremy, 1.9 could be annoying if you don't read the page properly and 1.10 is the number sequence that started this thread.

    1.11 - 1.13 are multiple question trivia ( even those Germans aren't helping much with the last of that trio - argh, too many permutations of possibilities )

    must learn deutsch, must cheat, must win over 200 pounds

    actually - must get some work done.
    teckis - that's news to me.

    Well, if those Germans are on 1.25, then perhaps we should concert our efforts and ummm beat them

    If you have any answers beyond 1.12 (or want to look up an answer to help get ahead) nip over to

    http://www.teckis.com/riddler.php

    answers are hidden - you'll need to drag select the text to see it - so as not to spoil the riddle for people who only want help on one question.

    subnote: please don't enter an answer unless you know it's right
    teckis - that's news to me.

    I was thinking of creating a "tips" page. I figure that'd be more fun for users

    I think it is Peter or Simon (didn't he use both names?).

    5) What is Quincy well known for working as?
    Medical Examiner (ME), Coroner, or Detective (stretch)

    same here - pretty much every number between 10 below and 10 above. must be broken

    <script>
    a = '300301302303304305306307308309310311312313314315316317318319320321322323324325326327328329
    330331332333334335336337338339340341342343344345346347348349350351352353354355356357358359
    360361362363364365366367368369370371372373374375376377378379380381382383384385386387388389
    390391392393394395396397398399400';
    b=a.length;
    c=0;
    d=0;
    while(++c<b)
    {
    if(a.charAt(c) == '3')
    {
    d++;
    }
    }
    alert(d);
    </script>

    my javascript version = error page - hope that doesn't scroll (oops added line breaks)
    teckis - that's news to me.

    BTW: I still am on 1-8, where I stopped last night.

    I'll start trying again after lunch, as my morning has been very busy (a good thing).

    I do think we should work together here at SP to try and help each other out in this this. A SP Effort.

    Now off to the chinese buffet!
