    Does anyone know where I can find sample databases?

    Does anyone know where I can find a sample database? I'm aware of the Northwind database but I don't have Access to be able to open it.

    What I want is more like HTML tables showing how the tables look like, their column names, and filled with sample data.

    <edit>
    Or if someone can post the contents of the Northwind database, that would be great!

    If you just need anything that has content, osCommerce comes with a good amount of "sample content" in the SQL file in its distrubution package.

    I've attached it if you want it.

    I was also interested in finding sample databases when I installed postgresql on linux in order to try some more complex queries.

    Here is what I found:

    Mondial (an excerpt of the CIA World Factbook)

    http://www.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/~may/Mondial/

    It is an english page from a german university which has the table structure and inserts available as an Oracle sql script and also as an xml document.

    It worked very well, except for the very small amount of oracle specific code.

    Oh no I didn't quite expect the sample databases to be this big I need something smaller (probably less than 6 tables). Sorry.

    Is Northwind small?

    Northwind has just over ten tables, IIRC.

    Best site ever: http://sqlzoo.net/ -- you can run queries on databases in [MySQL | Oracle | SQL Server | Access | Postgres] as well as make your own tables, do long and helpful tutorials, and ask questions. They have all sorts of tables ranging from simple and small to big and complicated with guided help--it's a great way to learn!
