Question CSS Page -- Non-css display

Ok, I have a page that is completely designed in CSS. When I toggle the css "off" the page becomes unreadable. I know that the whole reason for designing in CSS is to move into the future of browsers but there will always be those who are text based and if a page isn't readable by just text then it is useless right?

So my question is what is wrong with my page that makes it overlap all over the place?

    Any help appreciated.

Do you have a link where we can see what it looks like without the CSS?

Made on for you, sorry that I didn't think about that earlier. I have a toggle switch on my browser.

Run, you have inline style declarations (the style= attribute)...

A CSS aware browser would render these even if you took away the link to your other CSS, an old browser wouldn't render either. No real problem that I can see, but I'd still drop the style attributes since they won't be around forever (they're depreciated in the latest W3 Recommendation, I think). :-)

    Thanks Ian,

That is true and a good idea. I will move them into the css sheet as soon as I am done arranging them. Maybe I should do that now and see if it fixes my problems.

YEP! That fixed the problem! Thanks again Ian! I didn't realize how picky inline style tags were and how badly they could mess things up!

Here is something I caught by a quick glance.

Your logo is covering text because you use:

    <div align="center"><img src="address.gif" alt="" width="250" height="65" align="middle" /></div>

This aligning makes the image center, even with CSS off.

To correct this, make a div id for this logo like you have for most of your other divs to control the postioning with CSS. When you turn it off, it will align to the left and not cover the text.

    hope that starts you out...

    Run2Web,

See the attached image, once it validates. It's your site viewed in IE6/Windows 2000. It doesn't look quite right.

    Wow Vinnie,

That is bad. I wonder how best to fix it.

<EDIT> I fixed it. It had to do with the z-index. Once I set all of them to auto everything lines up perfectly now. Thanks! </EDIT>
