I am not an expert on Javascript but I would think there must be some jquery code around to do it as it is still basicaly a slideshow.

I suppose you could use flash as well.

Hi Ian. It's actually quite easy to do that, because there are many free scripts online for doing this that you can just drop onto your page (with a few CSS tweaks). They are powered by JavaScript, usually in the form of jQuery. Here are two nice examples:
