As some of you might know I am from Gibraltar but I live in the UK. I want to know if anyone knows how I can call my parents in Gib on their phone from my computer.

I think there's an address... http://www.net2phone.com or something similar, that will let you do this. I'm not certain if its international, though.

MSN IM lets you call people long distance from your computer to a telephone...not sure about international though.

It uses net2phone to provide the calls.

You could save oodles by signing to a secondary carrier Nicky. Onetel offer really good rates (http://www.onetel.co.uk/services/

there are loads of others about - but these guys have is sussed.

To save even more cash - do your folks have a pc? You could chuck HearMe! on a page on your personal site (without links to it), give your folks the url, then just phone them and tell them to connect when you fancy a long chat (I do this all the time for mates in India and China). Go to http://www.hearme.com for a freebie!

Thanks. Yes they do have a PC with Internet access which I set up last time I was there. However, it only gets used when I go visit which is good because it stops me goign to the cybercafe. My mum wants to use it but needs help and my dad is not even interested in turning the PC on!

    Hi

There is a site that says you can call 30 countries for free over the internet, but I've never managed to get it to work.
Maybe my slow connection is to blame.

See if you can get it to work - and please let me know if it does.

    Good luck!

If you want real phone service try priceline.com. I just got 60 minutes of US calling for $2.50 with no extra fees ever. Give it a try if you want real phone calls. I just found it and am excited at how cheap it is (as you can probably tell.)
