    Hello,

I have a client who wants me to redesign his site and take care of promotion for about 3 months.

We decided to not go with an hour/rate but instead with a per-project rate.

Anyway, here's what I will have to do:

    1) Re-design his site
    2) Submit his site to SEs, directories, etc.
    3) Work on his placements at PPC SEs
    4) Create an affiliate program
    5) Exchange links with other similar sites
    6) Develop meta tags
... and other stuff like that.

Basically, this project will last for 2-4 months and it will take me 15-60 minutes/day.

How much should I charge for this project?

    Thanks in advance
    Boris

If you work on it 60 hours a day for 120 days (4 months), it is 180 hours or just over one month of full time pay. I would charge him one month's salary or approximately $6000.

If that seems too harsh, then you can estimate it at 30 minutes a day and charge him for half a month's salary. I would not go below 30 minutes a day though.

Also keep in mind that your monthly income requirements are probably different than mine and adjust appropriately.

When you say WE decided not to go with an hourly rate, who suggested the idea?
All Wayne did was the logical thing and worked it out on an hourly basis. There is no other way to do it.

Its a bit like how long is a piece of string. You may find lodging the site with SE's and getting higher rankings could take you 2 hours a day. I sure have wasted a lot of time in this area, be careful about guaranteeing anything especially a listing on Yahoo.

I would say I will spend 1 hour a day 5 days a week. So 5 hours a week over 12 weeks at $50? an hour x 60 hours is $3000. Then you can do all 60 hours in one weekend and look for another job.
    Matt
