    Javascript and HTTPS

    Hi all,

    have a question.
    I have a page consists of 3 frames;
    it is a chat window.
    Frames have names "writer", "refresher",
    "main".
    I'm trying to force refresher frame
    to update, by calling the javascript code from inside
    the "writer" frame. The code is executed
    by setTimer().
    This is it:
    ...
    window.parent.frames['refresher'].window.location.href="/new_location.html";
    ...
    This works o.k. when you're on non-secure location
    (e.g. http), but when you're on secure location
    it just doesn't work (no error messages, anything).
    When I try to assign full URL to location.href,
    including http:// or https://, it does not work also
    when the javascript code locates itself on https://.

    I checked in both IE and Netscape; it doesn't work
    with both browsers. So I assume I don't know something
    about javascript and https interaction.

    Does anybody know what is it ? I will appreciate
    if you point me to the solution.

    Thanks,
    Max Rudensky.

    Might not make a difference, but have you tried this:
    parent.refresher.location.href="/new_location.html";

    "window" is assumed so you don't really need it and since the frame is named "refresher" you can specify it without the "frames".
