It would only be a good idea to have a seach engine on your site if you had loads of content and it would take a long time for someone to find the particular info their looking for.
If you do decide to add one to your site check out http://www.searchbutton.com or http://www.atomz.com (which sitepoint uses)
rgds,

Thanks Keith!!

I second the recommendation of atomz.com . If you really want to get technical you can customize the thing to look as if it's your very one.

Any site that has a lot of content is going to need a search engine of some sort. You can't possibly list every single article and thing on your navigation bar.Originally posted by Kat

On a side note, you can try SearchTraffic.com to earn you money through a search box.
I've been using the Atomz.com search engine for most of this year and it is simply incredible! I used to setup CGI and deal with all the headaches. But here there is CGI or anything difficult to configure and you can very easily customize it to look just like the rest of your site. The free service is fine for most people and it just puts a very small banner link back to the Atomz.com site. If you want the banner free service or want more features like being able to automaticallly index your site every day or index large sites, they have packages starting with the 250 page service for $75 per year.
I am also a recent reseller and would be happy to pass on part of my discount to SitePoint members.
PS: Be sure to use their synonym feature, and include misspelling in there too.
