Get a dedicated RAQ server from a dedicated hosting provider, figure out how much you have to charge to make money, set up a website telling about your services, set up some sort of online payment system.

Hosting is a harsh buissness and unless you know what your doing it can be confusing...not trying to scare you or anything, just might want to do some research and know what your doing first.

I agree with jumpthru. The hosting business is not something you just decide to jump into one day and hope to pay for itself right away. It takes some serious planning, promotion, and background knowledge.

Just make sure you know what you're doing.

Well, I'm in the process of doing just that. Here's my recommendations:

First off, if you're new to hosting, consider growing the business on someone elses server first as a reseller. Get some clients under your belt. This way you'll have some income and an idea of how much time you'll need to spend with each client for tech support/billing/etc. When you're ready, then bite the bullet and co-locate/lease your own server. You'll have existing clients to curb your expenses. Many services will set you up as a reseller, give you great prices, and even enable you to have your own virtual name server (as apposed to using theirs).

When you're ready to fly, they should be willing to recommend a place to lease your own server.
