I plan on doing a little piece in a future issue of the SitePoint Tribune about domain name generators. So far I've found:
http://creator.homepagenames.com/
ttp://www.e-gineer.com/domainator/
http://www.networksolutions.com/purc.../nameGen.jhtml
http://www.NameBoy.com

There are more but they're not even worth your time.
Matt: double check that NetSol link, it gives a "session timed out" error. Better yet, drop NetSol and replace it with Whoix.
Are you interested in freeware/shareware name generators too or do you want to stick with websites?

Domain Links (http://www.domainlinks.com) has a large directory dedicated to sites that help you generate possible domain names. You might also want to check out SnapItNow (www.snapitnow.com) and NameScanner (http://www.festra.com/namescanner).

Just don't want to be considered spam here
My site: http://www.123finder.com
Quite a simple idea, but it's a domain generator.
What I just improved is the length check (and also prefix/suffix check)
I put them on a real DB, with over 300,000 entries now.
Check it out if you think is worth your time.
Sorry if my service sucks!- Son Nguyen

I know that client-based stuff is 'out of style' but I would have to say that nothing come close to the usefulness of DNA (Domain Name Analyzer).
The benefits are -
a) It's free
b) It's a tiny download (less than 500k I think)
c) It's really fast
d) It's highly configurable, meaning it doesn't generate and check loads of trashy names you would never have wanted anyway
e) You can configure it to use your favored Registry Service (NetworkSolutions, Register, Joker etc) to purchase the domains you select
f) It has a wide selection of alternative Top Level Domains that it can crosscheck at the same time (like .CO.UK, .COM.AU, .TV)
g) It can build, save and reload an ongoing file of available domains
h) It can export your list to an MS Access file or as a HTML formatted doc.
In fact, we present the HTML formatted document as part of our initial service for clients who don't have a Domain. The list is clean, readable and professional.
Anyway, as you can see, I like it

There is a good downloadable program from
http://www.analogx.com called WhoIs Ultra that is ver fast and very free, and fairly cool. Has some configuration options that can help you find good names fast.

Actually I like a lot of the AnalogX stuff too. Always free, slick, useful and small file sizes.

Another domain company has one that I've used and like. It can be found at:
