That is easy to install...
Easy to open by very, non-tech visitors to my site...
Is under $200.00 (free is better...but I DO understand the concept of you get what you pay for!)

I believe it is available from http://www.quickchat.com - one of its good points is that its also accesible through a traditional IRC client for those of us who already use IRC.

I know http://www.webmaster.com provides both free and (mostly) non-free java chat rooms. Give them a look.
If you're willing to put up with ads put into your java chat applet, I can refer you to:

I can't stress enough, unless you have A LOT of users, don't bother with a chat room.
