When you say you can't activate it, what have you tried, if anything?

You will either need to add the analytics to say a sidebar widget or directly in to your template code > find the header.php and add the code there or there are many plugins available search wordpress > plugins for analytics and you will find many plugins

Depending on whether you're using a CMS, You can also install a plugin to easily handle it for you.

If blog is on blog spot then simple generate analytic code snippet then add this code on template file header part.
If its word press blog then there is analytic plugin through which you can enable plugin or add your code there.
