    Security within frameworks

I'm finally taking the plunge into the vast sea of MVC Frameworks and would like to know which framework is the best to start using both for the beginner but with the best forms of support in security as this is very important. I've been looking at Codeigniter and it's great, easy way to start learning but I've read that it only supports MD5 encryption which is now regarded as unsafe for password protection. So... which framework in your opinion is the best to fit the bill?

    Cheers in advance.

Symfony uses PBKDF2, SHA-512, 1000 iterations. But it may not be a good "beginners" framework.

Thanks for the reply. Is symphony heaving going then? Would it be worth my while to use codeigniter as a basis to learn MVC and then progress onto Symfony when I'm ready?

It's all personal preference really. Start with whatever you feel has the best documentation to get you going.
