    1: Why doesn't the tag Bordercolor work in Netscape?

    2: <td width="250"><img width="250">........
    This looks fine in an IE table cell, but in Netscape the cell is larger than a 250 width eventhough I set it.

    Any help with these?

    1. The appropriate attribute to use is "BGCOLOR" this is approved by the W3C and part of the HTML 4.0 specification. BORDERCOLOR, BORDERCOLORLIGHT, and BORDERCOLORDARK are proprietary tag attributes and only work in Internet Explorer 4 and higher.

    2. Unless you specify "cellpadding=0" and "cellspacing=0" in your table declaration, your table cells will have a slight space around them. Also if spacing is critical make sure that your table cell open tag, image and closing tag are all on the same line with no spaces or returns.
    i.e. <td><img></td>

    If your cell has exactly the height & width of the IMG that you want to put inside it, (and if your site is destined mainly to 4.0 browsers), then specify the height & width, set cellpadding=0, and use the image as the background of the cell. In that case don't forget to fill the cell with a little &nbsp;

    I wonder if someone used that trick, or if i've been innovative once in my life.
