That generically means the person you felt has made the best "overall contribution" rather than a specific thread. Albeit you might have a member that makes fewer posts you prefer that are all of exceptional quality. In eithercase it doesn't mean one specific thread.

You just have to weigh-it-up best you can though obviously you are going to be looking for quality posts nonetheless.

A mixture of quality and quantity is what we're looking for, someone who posts consistently good messages regularly. Another way to think about it is ... who would you miss most from the forum if they weren't there?

Slight misunderstanding here. A second vote doesn't have to result in a second place, but can be used to smooth out polling in the same way as used in presidential/mayoral elections.

Either way, we've still got the hassle (and potential arguments) around what voting system to use, making it a lot more complicated to administer ... I don't know, but can SurveyMonkey handle preferential voting systems?

The simplest way to deal with this is, if you don't know someone then leave it blank and don't cast a vote, then you don't skew the results and your left to only vote on the people that you like for each category.

I voted... I'm proud to see so many worthy people on the lists but... it has been so hard to pick up the best in each category! I hope that I've been fair although I don't know.

In the two categories where I was nominated (thank you to whoever wrote my name down for it) I voted for myself.... haaaah! Just kidding!

I would never vote for myself. It is just not right

Best of luck to everyone. We will soon know who are the winners... can't wait!

Next year, a radio button for choosing whether to be entered for prizes. Validation is important.
