Can i avoid div tags to create 3rd column

Buon Giorno from 3 degrees C pitch black Wetherby UK..

On this page & illustrated here Ive been trying to create a third column within the div but with no luck. I know loosely of the css theory for 3 column layouts but in my case as an exercise Ive tried to cread a third one (red copy) within an existing div. so my question is please
"is it impossible or just not a good idea to create a third column withing an existing div wrapper"

    Any insights welcome :-)

You could easily just put a floated div between #content and #aside. Make sure to give it a width ... but that's all you need.
