    Ok here are the rules.
You can quote from books, films or songs (nothing TOO obscure please!)
I will start off and whoever guesses right first gets to make the next quote.

    FILM QUOTE

"Cameron is so tight that if you stick a piece of coal up hi **** in 2 weeks you have a diamond"

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - spoken by Ferris Bueller sitting in a blue swimsuit on a weird hawaiin/bamboo looking chair out in his yard...with sunglasses up on his head I think.

    Boo'yall!

Do I get to go now or something?

Ok, re-read the "rules", so here goes:

    QUOTE:
"My Christening wig! I've had it since infancy!"

If thats too obscure I can try something else...I just love that one though.

Nice quote Nicky - I did my dissertation on John Hughes teen films of the 80's. Ferris Bueller, Sixteen Candles, Some Kind of Wonderful, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club... aren't film degree's cool!

I have NO idea about TWT's quote.

    How about this one:

We've come on holiday by mistake.
    (British Cult Film)

Only one I knew so far was the Ferris Bueller one.

Think we should stick to using quotes from very popular films (like Aliens, Superman, Rocky, Trainspotting, Saving Private Ryan, etc)

Thanks Peter I love John Hughes

But it is still TWTCommish's go.

NB TWTCommish you must say whether film, book or song. And if it is too hard then give us a clue!

I regret not the things I've done, but those I did not do.

Its from a book but I have no clue which one, I've been trying to figure it out for awhile. Hopefully someone here knows.

    Here is another good quote.

"In Germany the Nazis first came for the Communists and I didn't object because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't object because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't object because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't object because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out." -Pastor Martin Niemoller, Dachau, Germany, 1941

    It's from a movie...a lesser-known movie.

BIG HINT: it stars Chris Elliot. No looking at the Internet Movie Database either!

    Anyone, anyone? (another Buelller reference).

I love this thread...I hope it sticks with the movies.

The only movie I can think of that Chris Eliot actually stars in is "Cabin Boy" though he did have a supporting role in "theres something about mary"
I'd have to guess Cabin Boy.

I don't even know who Chris Elliot is!?!?!

(My quote was from 'Withnail and I' - sorry I didn't read the rules properly before setting my question - poo to 'hating British films' - rather a strong generalisation!)

I'm just going on what I've seen - Monty Python remains the only exception.

Chris Elliot is by no means a big star: but he's a very funny guy and highly under-rated. Cabin Boy is absolutely hillarious.

Speaking of QUOTES, what is everyone's favorite quote or saying?

    I like the saying:

"Everything that happens ... happens for a reason."

I'm a strong believer of this.

Peter - Withnail and I is absolutely brilliant.

One of my favorite quotes (I have many):
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts, absolutely.

NOW, back to the thread. Who's go was it?

I guess its mine, I already posted above.

Its a book, a short story I think.

I regret not the things I've done but those I did not do.

I really hope someone gets it right because I'm dying to know the answer.

Sounds like Thoreau maybe to me, although i don't know if it is. How are we supposed to guess if you don't know the answer!

I'm busy searching Thoreau quotes now to try and find it so we can move on.

If I went into the Big Brother house I would take a big book of quotations with me, they are great to dip into. I always think 'I must remember that one' but never do.

I'm guessing you must have been a student at some stage huh? SOunds vageuly familiar.
OK NEW RULE - you can't quote if you don't know the answer
2nd new rule - every quote must include the following:
"Nicky you are wonderful and beautiful and here is wads of cash!"

I think it is my turn again.

"I sound my barbaric YAWP over the rooftops of the world"

    EASY EASY

    Film and author please!

    From a BOOK.
