I've inherited a Front Page site. In the course of working with things, I've noticed a vti_cnf directory in every one of my folders, with a duplication of the files in the folder. What is vti_cnf and why does it duplicate files? It seems like this makes the site double in size, so what is the point?

    Thanks!

Its a useless implementation of one of Frontpages (features). As long as the site doesn't use themes or Frontpage Extensions you can delete the files within these folders. Deleting those files will most likely destroy Frontpage's ability to edit the site online though.

We are using shared borders and a theme, but only for the background. I could easily change that. Shared borders is one feature I like with FP. Does Dreamweaver have a something similiar?

In DreamWeaver you can use Templates, who enable you to use the same page over and over and update the whole site with just changing the template.
