Jquery Slider shows white background in IE 8 and below

My jquery slider looks perfect on other browsers until i saw it on IE 8, there's a white background at the back of the slider images and I dont know how to remove it! Please help!

I added this on my head:
.slider-item img {
background-color:transparent !important;
}

It looks like this in IE
