review Design Only for a zine site

i haven't put up any other pages yet, so you really can't talk much about those. I thought the design is simple and concise for a zine, so just throw me opinions.

Well, the background colors are so-so, and the litle pictures look stupid. Simple solid-color background would be better.

Set the table in the center to a percentage, not a pizel value. On my 1280X1024 screen, it looks way too small.

The yellow, blue and orange text on a black background is too garish.


Lastly, stick your external links onto another page.

Your background and logo need serious reconsideration... The background might even work if you get rid of the smilie icon, or whatever it is. Site structure seems OK and with an awesome logo and a graphic or two it will look infinitely better. Experiment with color combinations as well. Good luck!

I would not use the background with the little pictures on it. Maybe try some different color combinations. I like to stay away from black backgrounds but I guess it is a personal choice.

Room for Improvement
*Color scheme - there are too many colors! Good consistency in all link colors being the same but at first I though that your blue headers were links as blue is a standard link color
*Background might work if you get rid of the pictures and tie in the tourquiose color with the rest of the scheme somehow, maybe with your headers?
*Your code needs cleaning up ie you specify a font tag round a sentence, close it and then specify the same font tag again on the next sentence. If you enlose ALL your text with the same tag there is less work for the browser to do.
