    Filters for IE 5.0 and IE 5.5 and onmouseover

    I have a textual link on my web site. I made it glow using
    a filter for IE:

    .glow { filter : Glow(Color="black",Strength="3") }

    When I move my mouse over the link, the glow should
    become stronger, and when I move it away from the link
    it should go back to normal.

    This works fine in IE 5.5, but I get a JavaScript error in IE 5.0.
    Why do I get it and how do I fix it? Here is the code:

    <div class="glow" style="position:absolute; top:220px;
    left:73px; width:70px; height:100px; z-index:2;" align="center"
    onmouseover="this.filters.glow.strength=5" onmouseout="this.filters.glow.strength=3">
    <a href="istorijat.html">Istorijat</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;
    </div>

    Could it be that "this.etc." isn't supported at that version?

    I don't have version 5.0 installed, but if you can post the javascript error message then I may be able to help.

    Thanks for answering, but I managed to find the solution
    for my problem.

    Instead of:
    this.filters.glow.strength=5

    I put:
    this.style.filter = "glow(strength=5)"

    and now it works both in IE5.0 and IE 5.5.
    It doesn't look as good in 5.0 as it does in
    5.5, but at least it works.
