When whatever parseing your set of commands comes to a line that it doesn't recognise (or contains an error).

Parsing just refers to the "programs engine" trying to read and understand your code...

Hope that is an alright explaination... no doubt someeone will have more to say

how come i get those parse errors in something really easy like
    Code:
    div.main a:link, div.right a:link,	{ color: #663300;}
    ??

is it not validating because they stand together? -will i have to repeat things for the sake of validation?

    Hi,

Try it without the comma after the second a:link.

i don't think that's related as the above was a tyoing mistake and i've got a lot more lines lines like that...

...if i put them in single it validates, if i 'stack' them it doesn't... still, the effect is the same.

    Hi,

I've just validated your statement without the comma:

    Congratulations!
    This document validates as CSS!

    With the comma:

    Errors
    URI : http:tempaddress
    Line: 1 Context : div.main a:link , div.right a:link
    Parse Error -

    Try it and see.
