    Webmonkey

    Is there a reason why there haven't been any posts in this forum in forever?

    Anyways one of the best tutorials for beginnners is the one located at webmonkey:

    http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/...tutorial1.html

    There's also an advanced tutorial there as well:

    http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/...tutorial2.html

    These are excellent resources for those new to javascript and seasoned veterans as well.

    (Oh BTW this was my 100'th post, I'm a zealot now!)

    Forever is long time. Yeah we are getting out act together. This forum is not that old - the forums were only reorganised recently. Watch this space - I believe there are some javascript gurus collating resources and links as I type.

    Everyone is welcome to post in this thread. It will be made "sticky" so I just ask that you do not discuss, debate, meander in this thread. Start another thread if you want to discuss something. Let's keep this one to the point of providing resources and links.

    I'm hoping someone can help, I am using a link to a script that opens a seperate window, the thing thats bugging me is the main browser shows the link path when you roll over or click the image to open the new window.
    heres what I'm using
    href="javascript:void(window.open('http://www.mysite.com/product_018.htm', '', 'resizable=no,scrollbars=no,status=yes,width=640,height=480'))"

    If I use this one it does not display the path in the main browser window, but it also does not have a mouse indication there is a link from the image
    OnClick="javascriptwindow.open('http://www.mysite.com/product_018.htm', '', 'resizable=no,scrollbars=no,status=yes,width=640,height=480'))"

    How do I do this and only show "javascript;:" in the main browser window?
    Hope this makes sense

    MSDN's documentation on TextRange Remember that only IE4+/Win supports that. It is not cross-browser compatible.

    Perhaps a "Mentor" could split these two posts off?

    Dive into Greasemonkey shows you how to make user scripts to work with Greasemonkey (kind of specific), but I think it is a really good starter for learning Javascript in general.

    Here are 3 more resources with code examples:

    JavaScript, DOM Properties

    JavaScript, DOM Events

    JavaScript, DOM Methods

    They are assignments with solutions of a course contained in my education at The Department of Computer and System Sciences in Sweden.
    Hope they be useful.
