    Website promotion and SEO suggestions

    Hi All,

I passed out as post graduate and started working in IT industry in various roles. Currently I am working as a tech writer. My health never suited to working in AC environment in the IT back offices. I also found it very difficult to work for long hours during the release days. I had a bad neck problem some 4 years back when I had to quit my IT job and try out other jobs. It never worked out. In my 7 years of career I had often broken down and had to quit. But being in middle class I had to always rejoin and somehow continue work to keep things going. I wish as badly as one can if I could do some job which could give me some money to carry on and which I could do from my house. I found it a pain to sit in Ac offices with blocked nose and headache inspite of taking medicines for my sinus/throat to keep going on. Everyday feels like I am in a jail and I know I wont be able to do much in my full time job. I find it much better at home and feel like having a life.

I have a retired father who cant give much advice of other options than the full time job. He would never accept me giving up my job and trying something on my own though I have saved money for some years. In this state I going to try making websites. First thing in a website is its promotion. My first website is one where anyone can promote their website. Please suggest SEO and promotion techniques. All help would be highly appreciated.

Please read the sticky threads at the top of this forum, and any other threads which interest you. These will provide you with a great deal of information. I would also recommend you download and read Google's Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide. After that, if you still have any specific questions, then please feel free to post again. Meanwhile, I am closing this thread, as your question is too general to attract any meaningful answers.
