    XML Socket Server

I build a product that communicates back and forth with a XML Socket Server, now I am having some serious firewall issues. Is there any port that is almost always open that we can piggy back off of? Any ideas to get around the firewall issue?

What is the issue? Are you on a shared server or something, if not can't you just open the port on your server?

    No,
Socket Server requires an open port on the client too -- dedicated server - but the client PORT.

Okay I see what you are saying now. Well I can't think of another way. I have a flash chat app that runs on port 5226 and I have not seen any issues come up yet even when using a client in the form of a Flash projector file sitting on someone's desktop. But I have never asked anyone behind say a corporate firewall to test it.

That's odd, I'd say at least 50% of users are firewalled?

Can you send me a url?

So you are talking about small personal firewalls as well? I have this app running on a remote unix server and the app is running on port 5226.

I can connect just fine from behind my personal firewall.
