What software do you use?
Here is a list of software that I use for my websites:
Dreamweaver MX
Fireworks MX
Flash MX (only starting to learn it)
Photoshop 7
FTP Exlorer
Meta Tag Maker Wizard 2 (Pixel Persuasion)
Sothink DHTML menu builder
Give a list of software you use, I would just like to know what software is common and any software that sounds good and I am not using.

Homesite 4.51 (won't upgrade but might think about it if Microsoft buys Macromedia).
Textpad
Paintshop Pro
Topstyle Pro 3.0
SecureFX (FTP style program).
Also, how's PaintShop Pro? I've never used it but have heard it's a pretty good program. How does it compare to Photoshop/Fireworks/etc.?

The feds might stop it if it goes through. But the chances of a Republican administration stopping it are not likely. The DOJ doesn't have the authority to stop any merger. They can go to court about it but it is the SEC that has ultimate say in the matter. There is definately no monopoly in Image or HTML Editors though so any case against Microsoft will be weak on a proposed merger of this kind. They still sell Homesite separately but I was not impressed with the upgrade as it didn't seem to do anything but re-brand it and add in all sorts of Macromedia "garbage". J2EE is not a Macromedia technology but in reality a Sun Microsystems Technology so a merger won't effect the pathetic efforts to market the technology already in place. Microsoft already has a Java IDE that they sell.
As far as Paint Shop Pro, it is much easier to use than Photoshop and one doesn't have to go to Design School to make a few image edits here and there. Never tried Fireworks.

They also have J#. It is an IDE, what you program with depends on the runtime behind it, you can still download the newest runtime and SDK directly from Sun and use it with either J++ or J#.
Personally, I think Java is rubbish and have only seen one decent program written in it and that is Editize. Everything else is too cumbersome and therefore slow and bulky to use. Makes me feel like I am running software on an old IBM XT again.
