It is a finance site that focuses on Asian finance news stories. We update during market hours (usually 8am to 4pm Sydney-Australia time) and have live links to articles that cover finance and politics around Asia. For those in Europe and USA it is a good source of information to start the day with in order to find out what happened in Asia before their own stock markets and businesses open for the day.
I think it's great that you have an explanation on the home page of what the site is for, but it's a bit muted. that is, it doesn't stand out, so at first I didn't realize it was an intro. I would rather see that intro replace the white text in the black box. Feature it in big writing so it stands out. It isn't clear what the point of the ali quote is, but personally, it seems a wasted opportunity to me.
Actually, the summary you gave above is better than that on the site. Why not replace the text on the site with this! I'm always wary when people seeking a review request set out to explain what the site is for. That's a sign to you yourself that the site doesn't make its purpose clear enough.
1. I love the website, title, it's not THAT related but oh yeaah! Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right!!!
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight!!!
2. I agree with administrator Ralph about the ''about us'' column.
You could have bigger text there but maybe it would also be cool if you had a background for every post.
Just so you could distinguish one from another easy.
3. Maybe include a main menu where you categorize the posts? maybe categorize by country or by type of news?
4. Featured posts would be good. this could be the new ones or the ones that are most read.
5. Add a social plugin to make sure people can share your content with their friends!
i would love to give more constructive feedback but i just ... didnt get it. To me that looks like a wall of text and i am failing to grasp the idea behind all that.
Thank you everyone. I am currently working on automating the uploading of links then I will work on getting the presentation of what we are and about us to be bolder and more obvious after that.
Any other feedback welcome too. Thanks again, once again.
It looks more like a left brain design to me rather than right brain. It may appeal to people who like to read and get info quickly the old fashion way. It's lacking a few items like a separate contact page and privacy page.
Hi. Like other already said your site hits you with a lot of text and it's not very user friendly.
The front page black area with white text on it is not easy to read, follow, understand.
The lifestyle page burns the eye with its red.
In the livenews section do you realy need the article numbering (1@, 2@....)
Try to work on the color scheme and content placement. Maybe throw in some images (1 image makes 1000 words)
Use unique page titles.
try to move the css code in a separate file.
