    MySQL installation error

    Hiya,

I've installed MySQL on my D Drive and everything worked fine. I then wanted to install it on the C Drive. I deleted all the files, (rather than uninstalling) and then I tried to install on the C Drive but I get an error that MySQL is already installed even though all of the files are gone.

    Can you please help me...

I have already tried installing mySQL in the same location it was first installed, then uninstalling it, by "Add Remove Programs" but it didn't help.

    removing mysql

You may need to stop the mysql service, remove the my.ini file from the windows directory, check the registry for any entries concerning mysql. reboot then try to reinstall.

I hate messing with the registry... I just reformatted, comp needed it anyway. I'll just be extra careful this time when I install.
