Man, what I loser I was with that old sorry excuse for a PC in September, 2000.Originally posted by mjames
Yours isn't top of the line, but it certaintly isn't bad. Here's mine:
Gateway 2000 G6-400
400 mHz
9.54 gig hard drive
64 MB RAM (plan to upgrade to 128 MB RAM soon
17" monitor
Microtek SlimScan C3
HP CD-RW 8200 series (not sure the speed)
HP Deskjet 600C printer
I plan to get Microsoft's mouse and double my RAM.
Here's my current configuration:
(Six months old)
Dell Dimension 8100
Pentium 4 1.3 Ghz
Windows 2000 Professional SP2
256 MB RDRAM PC600
40 GB 7200 RPM HD
32 MB nVidia GeForce 2 MX with TV-out
19" Trinitron CRT (flat) monitor
Logitech cordless mouse + keyboard
Altec Lansing speakers with huge subwoofer
Lexmark Optra E312L laser printer
Logitech Quickcam Web webcam
Samsung DVD/CD-ROM Drive
LiteOn 24x/10x/40x internal CD-RW
One-way Comcast SURFboard SB3100D Cable modem
One thing I don't understand is how some people have great computers, but crappy monitors. H, you're one - 1.2-gig Athlon and an old 15" monitor? Having a crisp monitor is one of the most important things, IMO!
