Is there a script out there that automatically extracts email addresses when users hit your home page?

There's no way you can get email addresses from visitors unless they give them to you (filling a form, join newsletters, etc) because they are not included in HTTP headers.

Plus, I don't think that would be legal or moral to do that... almost like spamming.

postmaster, webmaster, abuse, president, newsmaster, all @REMOTE_HOST. If there's only an IP then don't e-mail, it'd be a private user. So say I visited and my REMOTE_HOST was aboutpcs.com, you'd e-mail postmaster@aboutpcs.com if I had violated one of your rules while entering my email address on your page (a crude example..).

Note: don't use this for spamming. It was meant to show you this could be done if the site follows E-mail address standards, in case you had a *reason* to email people. It will also work maybe 10% or less of the time.
