    Positioning / Right align

    http://www.syscompsjax.com/index2.asp

    2 things:

the triangle logo, when viewed on 800x600, sticks too far over and creates a horizontal scrollbar. I want it to fit by wrapping the text in the table.

    and

the very top right picture (that says "www.syscompsjax.com"), when the browser is resized to be narrow, goes under or over the top left picture. Is there a way so that they never overlap?

in your style.css file, change your main left padding value to 150px or less. right now you have it as 170px and that is causing the scrollbar to appear. if you do that, you'll also want to change your menu width to 130px or less to retain the 20px spacing between the menu and the main body.

I can't do that because when you are logged in, some of the menu items take up the entire 150px.

Surely there is a way to let the text wrap in the content area so it fits!

I got it working http://www.syscompsjax.com/index6.asp by switching my entire design to tables. This definately isn't what I wanted to do, but unless someone can show a CSS way... it's my only option.

you can always put in a <br> to force the menu items to wrap.

Well the problem in your original file is because your tables result in a width larger than 800 pixels and since it is absolutely sized, there is no wrapping...

    Look at this:

170 pixels for the left menu column
17 Pixels for your Arrow image and
    625 pixels for the text.

For a total of 812 pixels not including borders, margins or any padding.

For your site to show properly in an 800 width screen you should target the size for 770 pixels to allow for scrollbars and interface gadgets. You missed that mark by about 42 pixels.

Now if you go to your original design and change where it says "Width=625" to "width=*" then you should get proper wrapping. This isn't a CSS issue. It is a Table issue.

Thanks a lot. There was actually something else (a width in the bottom table) that had to be removed as well.

Phew. Much better. Stupid Frontpage.... putting in widths...
