Crop, resize, crunch - all online

I get jpeg images in various sizes that all need changing to 580x300. Normally I do this is Fireworks. I then select jpeg and Export the file so I get a compressed image in jpeg format. Next, I upload to WordPress.

However, I now want to outsource this process. Are there any good online tools (ideally) or free applications that will allow the automation of this process, so they can be done with minimal effort?

When you upload to WordPress, it says crunching. Does that mean I can skip the step exporting jpeg so it reduces the file size?

    Thanks,

    Jon

Try Irfanview aka Iview. Great bit of kit, versatile, compact, fast, easy to use and all that for the sum of 0.00.
It will let you crunch or crop in mere seconds, and on top of that has a variable compression rate for jpeg from 1-99% file size reduction.

You didnt do it file by file, right?
Else you can just do photoshop > file > scripts > image processor
It will resize you a hundred images within minutes

Oh that's good to know! I wasn't aware of that.

Edit: I've just noticed that you need to specify width and height when resizing, but I only want to specify width of 580 and keep the proportions the same. Look like Photoshop can't do that. Shame.
