    WAMP?

    I'm trying to install a WAMP server on my home computer, so once I download and start the server and go to localhost... all seems ok, but when I go to phpmyadmin (localhost/phpmyadmin) I get a forbidden error and dont know what thats telling me... Is it possible that somethings blocking my ability to use that database management tool

    Hi Luke!

    1. Where is localhost located? If it's in the Program Files directory (of Vista or later), it's protected so you can't change anything in there unless your running WAMP as administrator.

    2. PHPMyAdmin requires some setup (at least the daemon version). Look in its conf subdirectory and follow the directions there - although I'm surprised that WAMP didn't configure that for you correctly. Finally, is there a conflict with anything else using Port 80?

    3. Specific help on "canned programs" are best handled by their dedicated forum - where people have probably asked the same question hundreds of times.
