    Hi all!

I think it really might benefit people whose sites are just getting started (such as mine) if other people would tell them what their biggest source of traffic is, and how they got that source of traffic.

My biggest source right now is coming from Yahoo, it is giving me an extra 500-1000 pageviews a day. I think that submitting to Yahoo! Canada really sped up the reviewing process (I got reviewed in about 1 week)

Wow, that's a really good amount you have coming from Yahoo!. For me, I would say it is a pretty big variety of sources. Search engines and sites that link to me are the two biggest sources, even though that's not very specific.

What keywords are you listed under to receive 1,000 extra pageviews a day from Yahoo? That's pretty good.

Yahoo is about 85% of all my hits. I used the word "free" for my site. As in "free Dolphins wallpaper".

My largest source of traffic when I ran my commercial website was from the open directory project (dmoz.org).

In terms of search engines, my biggest referrals are Yahoo and Altavista. Interestingly enough, Altavista was not even on my referrals radar 1 yr ago.

I get most my visitors from script directories, mainly cgi-resources. I also get a lot from the various sites that use dmoz.org data (lycos, AOL, etc). I get a lot from google.com and google.yahoo.com, and from alltheweb.com. I get few, if any, from altavista.

My biggest source of traffic is Goto.com, which is a paid search engine as most of you probably know.

I have submitted my site to Yahoo twice now, and have not heard a word from them.. hopefully I will soon.

I feel good saying majority of my visitors are return visitors. Maybe this is because of the nature of my site.
