This is the only place I have found information on Aestiva. I really haven't looked though.

After doing a little research (very little). I found it has two major benefits. One its an all-in-one package for building database driven weblications. Two it doesn't require any kind of server software modification.
Even with that I don't think it is worth the $799 asking price. Because you get limited to their object model whereas with PHP and ASP (both free) you can expand the object model at will. Also both PHP and ASP allow you to access multiple database platforms (Oracle, Sybase, DB2, Informix, MySQL, PostgresSQL, etc...) which will prove to be more scalable and easier to use for medium to large sites.
My suggestion unless you really have $800 dollars to burn and want to learn a niche programming environment, is to stick with PHP and ASP to develop web applications as both are free and have a lot more support.
