    GOP Virus!!

I am convinced that the Republicans have infiltrated my MacBook!! (I can no longer view news from nbcnews.com?!)

When I go to this link in FireFox...
    http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/firs...l-finds-n50341

    All I see is...

But if I go to Opera and try and view the same link, I see this...

    What's up with that?!

    Sincerely,

    Debbie

Works fine for me in FF, too.
Seems that the Republicans may well be targeting you.

Viewing your screenshot, it appears Firefox DID reach the site, but THE BROWSER had trouble rendering it.

I think there is no conspiracy, just a temporal problem with the Flux Capacitor in your MacBook.

    @DoubleDee ;

Caution with the political jokes, by the way, Debbie.

We don't allow discussions about sex, religion and politics on Sitepoint because they can become firey topics and we like to keep this place friendly and groovy. It's something we learnt years ago through experience. We'd probably let the odd comment slide (depending on how neutral or incendiary), but try to keep it down.

    Thanks!

Ted Cruz must have gotten wind of those not-so-flattering things I said about him in another forum...

The intent was *sarcasm* and not politics, even though I am a diehard Democrat.

(Personally, I thought my OP was hilarious...)

Seriously, though, why can't I view some websites like NBC News?

At first I thought it was a JavaScript issue - because I did turn JS off for a bit - but it is back on now.

I have noticed some other sites that have these big white gaps, that I think is related to the issue.

For instance, CNN.com always have like 3/4 of a blank page between the page heading and the actual article.

If it wasn't for FireFox FireBug, I think I would ditch FireFox at this point.

It has become such a piece of crap!!

Almost every night before I shut down my Mac, I have to go into "Activity Monitor" and do a "Force Quit" to get FF to quit.

I also have had an issue of the Window menu displaying tons of blank space as described in this *unsolved* thread...

    What-has-happened-to-FireFox-!

FireFox used to be the world's coolest browser.

So sad to see it go down the tubes...

    Frustrated,

    Debbie

It seems to be working fine in my Firefox (on Windows, though, not Mac).

So it's possibly something specific to your set up. Did you upgrade or change any applications recently?

Maybe try a delete and reinstall?

There's a video where that big gap is. I see it fine in FF (on Windows).
Maybe you have some other plugin installed that blocks vids, ads or something like that?

You might want to consider using another browser for your normal online browsing activities, and use FF only when you need firebug?

I thought it might be AdBlock Plus, but this issued occurred long before that on www.cnn.com

What FireFox plug-ins/add-ons could cause this issue?

The only thing I have disabled is Java...

(I did that for security reasons.)
