I've added a clients web site to my index page.
Why does the unclicked link display gray when the other unclicked links
display blue? The unclicked link I'd like to diplay blue is <center><a href="http://scootersaus.com.au">Scootersaus Melbourne</a> </center>

It'll be something to do with how you have styled (or not styled, as the case may be), the <a> tag in your css.
If you post a bolied down example, then maybe we can help.

As Pullo said, we need to see the code involved, or preferably a link. But it's to do with your styling.

By the way, <center> is an outdated element that should not be used any longer. Use CSS for styling, rather than HTML.

A link is shown with the :visited style when the destination URL appears in your browser history. It doesn't matter whether you clicked on that particular link or a different link, or if you typed the address in or went to a bookmark – your browser knows you have visited the page, so it marks the link as visited.

Browsers and CSS in general has a standard set of styling rules for websites unless new rules have been declared in your stylesheet. For instance, links are made blue with an underline, and visited links are made purple. You can reset these rules to give you full control of your website by adding a "CSS Reset"-snippet. You can find a good CSS Reset here. Copy and paste the snippet into the top of your stylesheet (CSS-file). The procedure to make your own rules for links has already been mentoned over

The code you gave in post #6 above is showing a closing </p> tag in the example with <center> tags, but the code you gave in your original post doesn't have any <p> tags. Which is correct? If you have styling set for <a> tags within <p> tags, but there is no <p> here, that may affect how it displays. Likewise, have you set styling for <center>? Without seeing the full HTML and CSS for this page, to see how things interact, we're just guessing at your problem.

As Stevie said, it's nothing to do with the HTML, but the styling. If you have a special color set for visited links, your browser knows that you've visited that link.

In the stylesheet you provided you define various styles for the <a> tag, depending in which context they appear.

E.g. on line 32 you have:

This means that the links will be styled differently depending on where in your page they appear.

So, to come back to your original question, the link is very probably styled differently from the others as it occurs within a containing <div> or <span> element, for which links are styled in some way other than the default blue.

If you could post a snippet of HTML in which the "problem" link occurs, I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this quite quickly.

Yes, without the HTML, and some indication of which link is not colored as desired, posting the CSS is a waste of time.

Using FF and the Firebug extension, it's easy to see what style is being used on that particular link.

You've got a few lines in that CSS that could be responsible for the link appearing grey:

ul#fresh-services li a {color:#666;}
.blog_navigation ul li a {color:#bbb;}
.blog_sidebar li a {color:#666;}

Your challenge is to look at the HTML code and figure out which of those applies to this particular link, and whether you need that line CSS for anything else or if all it is doing is changing this one link that you don't want it to.
