    Table border- Netscape 4

    Hi,

    I have a table with a border using CSS but it doesn't work in Netscape 4. I was wondering if there is a way of getting it to work.

    Here is the CSS code in a externall css file.

    .border {
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    }

    Here is the code in the html file:

    <table width="91%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="border">

    Any suggestions?

    Regards,

    Jason Klein

    Netscape didn't implement border CSS in version 4. Version 4 was created in 1998 and only implemented 45% of the 1996 CSS1 standard. So unless you want to forego the CSS and play the table game again, kiss your border goodbye. But most people have IE 5+ or Netscape 6+ at this point in the game so you're not losing too much. I know where I work Netscape 4 is like 2% of our user base. We still support them but we offer them less "flashy" stuff (unless it really is Flash) than those with more recent browsers.
