    Cool Webmastercommunity design review

    Hello,

We are starting a new dutch webmastercommunity. A site with news, tutorials, blog, forum about the web world.
We already have the front page design. What do you think about it. What isn't good and what do we need to change! Tips are welcome.

    Thanks,

    Siemen

    Hi Siemen,

I like the design of your homepage. The branding and colour scheme are both very strong and match your target market well.

A couple of things that I would do to improve things are:
    • Move the social media icons above the fold. They're kind of stick away at the bottom reight now.
    • Create a clear call to action on the page. There's a lot of information on the page and as a user I would be unsure about where you want me to go.

I hope these point you in the right direction. All the best with the launch!

One thing I always look for is an explanation—even if just a few words—or what the site is for. Visitors can be gone in less than a second, so don't rely on them sniffing around to try to igure out what should be obvious in that first second. Why should they stay on the site? What will they get out of it. Don't assume they will know.

Well it somehow difficult to judge a whole site on the basis of single screenshot. But the still design of the site looks fresh and good. I do agree with Ralph that do add some area where you can add some text to give a rough idea to your visitors about your site and the services you provide. All the best!

Well, this is a very good design you have and I congratulate you on your work! I would say that you have designed a very solid theme for your website idea. A very simple and easy to navigate theme has been created but it is also fresh and clean. Well done for your work! Time to see you put it into action on a live site.

This is a very good design with good concept. You provide a very good details regarding your theme and Templates. I prefer to go for simple and easy web site designing which we can produce and more people are aware about it.
