Huge traffic loss of website server?

I am wondering if my website server has been attacked. I got access to my server, and checked the traffic usage history, in May, we overused 40% traffic. And in June, 30% of the server traffic has been used. What's is wrong, is it the reason that caused the latency of my website?

Depending on what your looking at keep in mind we are only 8 days into June :P . Also, what do you mean by "used traffic", are you on a traffic package or just a cap on bandwidth?

AmishWebmaster, I believe that what Lonking is saying is that, although we are only eight days into June, he has already used 30% of the traffic, and therefore the usage by the end of the month will be much higher - perhaps higher even than in May.

That said, I agree that he needs to clarify what he means by "used traffic".

Lonking, if you are saying that your traffic has suddenly become very high, you need to look at your logs to see what the traffic is and where it's coming from. Normally, an increase in traffic is seen as desirable, and doesn't necessarily mean the site has been attacked in some way.

If you don't have access to your log files, or you don't know how to interpret them, check to see if your hosting provides a friendly stats program that gives you the information you need.

The Email Relay Usage Statistics graph displays that our hosting account's email relay usage exceeds 1000 each day, is it normal? Our website is written by PHP and we haven't set up any server email account, i checked the log and it shows something is wrong with one plugin of the website blog, and i have deleted, what is really going on?

Not really sure what you are looking at. However I did note that you have Google Analytics. You should be able to determine most everything you would want to know concerning loss of traffic in Analytics.

Lonking, perhaps this is something you should take up with your hosting company. There could be some simple explanation for it. With luck, their support people should be able to sort it out.

I don't understand you why you are thinking about server traffic ? You must be interested about your website traffic .
Or there is something that I didn't understood ?

There really seems to be no point in resurrecting this discussion after four months.

Please don't post in old threads unless you have something especially helpful and worthwhile to add.
