Moving onto another field by pressing [Enter]

    Greetings.

I am creating a dynamic application that will be generating an awful lot of fields. It will be something like, 5 along by 45 down. (Just normal text fields.) I wonder if there is a way of allowing the return key to move onto the next field?

I hope I posted this in the right forum.

    Thanks in advance.

    Pedro.

    Edit:

Clarification: I mean the next field as in the one below it.

    Hi pedro

The standard key to move to the next field is the 'tab' key. Not only on webpages but for example also in windows dialog boxes. And the 'enter' key is used to 'submit' or 'ok' what one has done.

Why would you want to deviate from that? IMHO it could only confuse your users.

    Hi.

It's not really deviating from standards, I simply want to make typing in 'mass' data easier. Obviously I would orientate the user to use the [Enter] key to go down and [Tab] to go along.

    Thanks.

    Pedro.
