    When comparing to pre-cached output (which ASP.NET has superb features for, by the way) pretty much anything is slow. What I meant with saying "XML is not that slow" was "XML is not that much slower than other template systems".

    Ahhh right, I got ya now. XML transformed via XSLT when compared to most other templating systems would probably be fast as the XSLT transformer will most likely be coded in C/C++ which as we know is faster than a parsed template engine.
