What are "browser technologies"

I wonder whether someone could define/tell me what falls under 'browser technologies'.

Does it include Javascript, HTML, CSS??? I couldn't find much of an answer on Google just now.

It's really a bit of a vague term that needs more context. In what context did you hear the term? Certainly, browser technologies could be considered things like HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but there are other kinds of code that work in browsers, and browsers themselves are technology at work, so ...

Context is mobile sites, e.g. saying: browser technologies should be used to make sites more suer firendly and come closer to current desktop experience.
