I've spotted several times a HTML image on the web and now is my question: What the ... are those images?

    Thanks for helping me out

These look like normal .gif/.jpg images, but have the extension .html when you save them. It almost looks like it are some sort of embedded .gif/.jpg images.

I haven't ever seen one either. Got a URL?

Are they embedded in the HTML code, or are they just named IMAGE.htm?

Perhaps it isn't really "html graphics" , but an image encased in a frame? The idea is to keep people from stealing your graphics..that way, when they click on the image, they get an HTML file, instead of .gif or .jpg.

    Quite clever, actually

    I found this URL: http://store2.yimg.com/I/elfstore_1566_940722

In the title stands just: GIF image 212x210

I guess you're right, Sparkie, and this is only an embedded gif image...

    Thanks anyway
