    Hi all,

I just noticed that my Associate-Trackers.com site has been indexed by Google and I haven't even submitted to any search engines yet. What's up with that? Not that I am complaining I'm assuming Google searches the net and spyders all websites that it finds?

Yeah, they probably found a link to your site from somewhere and then just added it to their spidering que.

I think Google is quite good at indexing stuff quick. Like L said the more people you can get to link to you the better as some engines take that to mean you are more relevant and should appear higher up!

Yep Google rules... Yahoo uses Google currently instead of Inktomi.

Google rocks. Once they update their database I should get at least 500 visitors from the main http://www.google.com site alone.

    Yep.. that's per day.

The main thing is to a) get people to link to your site as this increases your ranking and b) have LOTS of pages on your site. The more pages you have, the more links to your main page and the more diverse topics will come up in searches.

Google recently indexed a bunch of pages on my site but it hasn't shown up in their index yet, judging by how long it took them last time it'll be another month or two before it starts showing up in search results.

My two favorite search engines that never fail to get me what I need:

    http://www.google.com - google
    http://www.dogpiles.com - dogpile

Lately dogpile has been better... I wonder why?

I think Google's engine being used by Yahoo! is really sweet. I'm glad they got rid of their old engine.

Google has been changing their search algorithm around a bit lately to try and leave out pages that are too similar, too bad they sometimes do it when they really shouldn't. Maybe that's why dogpile has been better.
