    ie creating unnecessary horizontal scroll

Anyone ever have a situation where you're using relative widths (100%) and have IE create unnecessary horizontal scroll?

I know that with certain DOCTYPES declared, IE6 will totally screw up the scrollbars, especially if frames are used. Instead of framing the page within the vertical scrollbar, IE will place the vertical scrollbar on top of the content, which then introduces the need for a horizontal scrollbar just so you can see the little bit behind the vertical scrollbar. Microsoft should be spanked hard for this one. Try removing your DOCTYPE or setting the width to 95% or so in your style sheet and see what happens.

I get that sometimes. What's even weirder is when I refresh a page I've written (no changes at all) sometimes I get a horizontal scrollbar, sometimes not. This happens is IE6 and Opera 6.

Something I've done I'm sure, but weird eh?
