I'm making some money off my site so I can use that to payback and for future domains and I have a "real" job which easily can pay for domains.

    That's BAAAAAD.

It depends on what you mean. Are you asking how we make enough money to pay, or how we convince our parents to let us use their credit cards?

I make money as a freelance developer...just starting to really get moving with that. And of course I hope to start making money from my sites...up til now It's all been an "investment."

As for my parents...thank goodness that they truly embrace the Internet. My parents are divorced, and both parents (and both step-parents!) let me use their credit cards for domain names and the like. I feel truly blessed in that respect...if they were skeptical towards all this, I wouldn't know even half of what I know now and might be flipping burgers for spending money right now.

TWT.. lucky (not for your parent being divorced btw, but it's good you didn't end up with 'orrible step parents)...

The guy I work for hosts mine... but it's only a raq3 any way!

I subscribed to your domainname mailings... looks promising... i want a nice one to do with wap please!

I only have one domain...and it was a real struggle (almost 2 years) to get just that!

    I can't wait until I have a credit card...

You're very lucky the domain wasn't taken before then! And I do mean *VERY* lucky!

Credit cards creep me out for some reason...

If you ask your bank, they will usually give you a VISA or MasterCard debit card which works just like a credit card. I know they will give you one once you turn 16. (I got one from Wells Fargo then.) There are also debit cards that work in conjunction with your parents bank account (so you can use them even if you are, say, 13.) It's your money but co-signed by your parents for the bank's satisfaction.

You can get one so get one!

Well, my parents _USUALLY_ let me use their credit card to buy domain names/hosting..

Now though - I usually talk some of my friends into buying the domain names for me and then I pay them via PayPal - my parents feel better about that.

    DoughNet - Hillarious!

I saw a news story awhile back about how some credit card company (Visa, AmEx, whatever...not sure) had come out with a quick debit card that parents could give their kids to track what they were buying and when...like giving them cash...each card would have so much "on it"...I think it'll only drive more people into debt at a younger age...but I don't suppose we can do anything about it.

Will do. Anyone else have a keyword you need some domain ideas for?

Here are a few WAP domains...

    WebmasterWAP.com
    BrightWAP.com
    WAPClubhouse.com
    WhenWAP.com
    WAPScour.com

Sorry, I didn't notice your request earlier - thanks for subscribing! Unfortunatly I could only find a few domains on this subject...I personally like WebmasterWAP.com, WAPClubhouse.com and WAPScour.com.

    Hope this helps.

I'm still a teen (of sorts? - 19) and I have a decent job earning X amount/year, so I have two credit cards - one with a $300 limit in order to reduce the possibility of CC fraud and then my other credit card which has a $2000 limit which I use for emergencies and large purchases.

(edit) I should add that I use the $300 for both domain names and hosting payments (/edit)

LOL...don't worry; I'm not even sure if I know what WAP is...so I won't be taking any of them. Plenty of domains I have on my list that I'd like to take anyway.

Glad to help - tell your friends!

I hope to use my parents' credit card anyday now. Waiting to get a certain check here and then I will buy my domain.

It wasn't easy to get "access" to it, but should be able to convince them to let me use it. What can I say, I'm good at making deals.

Yeah Owen, I got a debit card from a local bank.

It's a charm, as my parents do not trust the internet.

    Ah well

Who knows how the money comes around. It's magic. I get about $35 from my parents and hosting is $28/month for 2 domains. I always end up paying for everything I do.

There is a Circuit City opening up here soon. I hope to get a job there and that will help a WHOLE BUNCH!

    Back to washing the dishes.

There is sort of a topic inside another topic here.

anti_alias: As I recall, a very large portion of WAP names were snatched up a few months ago by people hoping they'd fetch millions of dollars, which is what they are listed at on Yahoo! Auctions and other places now with not a whole lot of success.

If we can dig up enough, besides the short list the Chris provided, we'll dedicate a whole list to it... otherwise I'll just compile what I can find and send it along to you and anyone else who wants it.

    We'll see...

Trust me, by the time you guys graduate high school and enter college, you will be swamped with credit card offers!

Don't take the first one you get in the mail. Sit down with your parents or relatives and figure out how to get a decent card that will suit your budget (and won't punish you horribly for "forgetting" that last payment!) At first you will have some high interest rate and low credit-limit cards, but as soon as you show them that you're responsible enough to make your payments on time, they'll start giving you a bit more freedom

    Good luck

    Sparkie, totally agreed.

Once I was walking around shopping with my girlfriend when a rep from American Express stopped me and asked if I was interested in a AE CC, and would specially offer me a limit of $3000. I simply gave her a steely glare which basically said : "You dare ask me, and I will make sure I never sign up for an AE CC in my life".

    She got the msg

I did my own research before I got my two VISA cards, since they're so widely accepted on the Net and around my city (as compared to AE)
