It seems IE just doesn't like the image being placed on <body>. You could try moving it to a wrapping div and see if that fixes it .

Your image does not work in IE - http://pegasuscollection.com/purlpag...ges/bodybg.jpg. If you try to open it you get nothing there. This is the problem. There is nothing wrong with your code. Try this url(http://helios.gsfc.nasa.gov/image_euv_press.jpg); FONT-FAMILY: georgia, serif, it should work. It illustrates that there is something wrong with your image.

Save it out again and try it and see your results.

Sega, I tried using an image from my own website because I thought that might be an issue, however even an image from my own site didn't show up (which surprised me). Any idea why that was the case?

Interesting.. Is there anyway I can avoid this problem in the future? Why is this jpeg corrupt only for ie?

Ah hah!! Figured it out... This was also a problem in my gallery page with three of my photos. The 'mode' within photoshop was CMYK. Needed to change to RGB

From what I've read, it appears to be related as to how JPGs are saved. How are you saving your .jpg images? Perhaps you could try resaving it and reuploading, or perhaps consider switching it to a .gif.

Though I tried a .gif with my original testing and I didn't see it show up there...

Edit-Glad you figured it out .

... would never have guessed that considering I don't design website in PSD. Glad you found the solution!

Why would you assume he's designing the website in PSD? He never said anything about that. He had images in photoshop, that's the extent of what he's said .

Was just doing some quick batch script resizing through photoshop, not actually designing . I think the 5 photos in my gallery were origionally TIFs as well (assuming they are cmyk?)

Here is a quick write up about what browsers support cmyk. Total shocker that IE is behind the curve!
